The Guru
The Guru is a personal project. It’s a storyboard I developed for a song I wrote called, “You Gotta Ask Your Heart.” Cheesy, yes, but the project is meta. I’m playing against romantic sentimentality and spiritual cliches in order to express a kind of existential angst maybe we all feel. I love really understated stories that take turns that you don’t expect or when the craft of making something has a voice as well. So in this project I tried to do both, and used sepia ink and brush on some thick-ass watercolor paper in order to bring a haptic vibe to it. I’ll post the song on another page soon. Enjoy!
